Position Description

This full-time position is hybrid, 2-3 days a week in any CGI Atlantic location (Moncton or Fredericton, NB, Stratford, PEI, Halifax, NS or St. John's, NL).

Your future duties and responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize applications on the AS400 platform.
  • Work with EDI systems, focusing on transaction sets for transportation and logistics.
  • Provide technical support for a large transportation company, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Analyze business requirements, design technical solutions, and provide project estimates.
  • Utilize SQL/400 and AS/400 utilities to enhance system functionality.
  • Assist in deployment and post-deployment support.
  • Write, test, and debug RPG, CL, and SQL code.
  • Work on complex SQL queries and automation using FTP concepts.
  • Develop APIs for integration with upstream and downstream systems.
  • Optimize system performance for reliability and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for solution implementation.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Document system processes and updates for internal use.
  • Assist in modernizing legacy systems and integrating new technologies.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an AS400 Developer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in RPG, CL, and SQL programming.
  • Experience with debugging and testing tools (e.g., STRDBG, Service Tools).
  • Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., GIT).
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow for incident management and tracking.
  • Strong understanding of AS400/iSeries architecture and system design.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve system issues efficiently.
  • Experience in system analysis and technical design.
  • College diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field

Asset Qualifications

  • Experience in logistics, trucking, warehouse, shipping, or invoicing applications is a plus (e.g., ICC, TELL).
