A challenging and exciting opportunity exists to work in a collaborative interprofessional environment delivering occupational therapy services to rehabilitation patients in a specialized rehabilitation setting. This is an ideal opportunity for an occupational therapist that wants to be part of a team of rehabilitation practitioners who are considered leaders in the delivery of rehabilitative care and to actively participate in improving the outcomes of the patients we serve and to the health care system as a whole.
The current assignment is for the inpatient acquired brain injury program. This position also may be assigned to, or provides coverage for, other clinical areas within the Rehabilitation Department across both inpatient and outpatient programs.
It is understood that the hours of work reflect the current scheduling arrangements and are subject to change as determined by the Employer.

Essential Qualifications
- Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- Applicants must have a demonstrated knowledge base in the provision of service to neurological patients
- Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational, time management, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Must be capable of establishing positive interpersonal relationships and able to work as an effective team member
- Demonstrated experience using a patient-centered approach
- Self-directed, self-motivated to accomplish specified outcomes
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice
- Knowledge of and ability to mobilize community resources
- Experience in the development of teaching materials and the teaching of clients, family, and caregivers
- Working knowledge and experience with theories and principles of guiding adult learning and patient self-management approaches
- Proven flexibility and a high level of initiative
- Familiarity with outcome measurement related to clinical practice
- Flexibility in adapting to varying caseload needs
- Knowledge of computer systems (eg. workload measurement, Cerner, Outlook, Microsoft Office)
- Travel within the catchment area is required
- Proficiency in French would be an asset
- Assistive Devices Program (ADP) Authorizer
- Experience in wheelchair and seating assessment, intervention, and prescription
- Minimum of 2 years full time related experience as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience in both hospital and community service delivery
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience in program evaluation, quality improvement, and research
- Demonstrated ability to work with and direct support personnel

- Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
- Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
