ACCOUNTING ASSOCIATE – PURCHASING & SUPPORT
Who is an Accounting Associate – Purchasing & Support?
This role is primarily responsible for ensuring GoodLife clubs receive the products they require for use, for sale, and for promotional give aways. This includes procuring new product, facilitating distribution using the purchasing system, providing support for club associates related to their orders and use of the system, invoice matching, and purchasing system administration.
What will you be doing?
- Responds to 40+ email support inquiries per week related to the purchasing systems and provides training to ensure Associates and Vendors are able to use these systems effectively
- Sets up and maintains the purchasing system to ensure it functions as required
- Sets up new vendors, items, locations, users, and custom reports
- Works with large vendors to ensure that products and pricing are kept up-to-date in the system
- Enters transactions as necessary to ensure all activity is captured and reported on appropriately
- Ensures that special orders are coded to the correct club or department and expense account
- Conducts research and coordinates sourcing to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers
- Resolves issues related to pricing, delivery, or product quality
- Evaluates supplier performance and provides feedback for improvements
- Conducts market research to identify potential suppliers and cost-saving opportunities
- Compares pricing, terms, and conditions to recommend the best options
- Reviews invoices to ensure they accurately reflect product ordered and received
- Coordinates and/or assists with regular physical inventory counts and reconciles the results with all asset and inventory tracking systems to ensure they accurately reflect the assets and inventories in all clubs and warehouses
Do you have what it takes?
- Post-secondary diploma or degree
- 1-2 years’ Procurement experience
- Proficiency in the use of computers for email and internet
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Ability to manage and effectively prioritize multiple commitments
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to convey information and influence outcomes
