Title: Signage, Team Lead

Position: Full Time, Hourly

Remuneration: Full Time, $23-$25/hr

Start Date: As soon as possible

This is a full-time position at 40–44 hours per week. Spruce Meadows is a world-renowned show jumping venue which hosts several tournaments, Cavalry FC Soccer matches, and various special events throughout the year. Tournaments, Matches, and events may be held on weekends, therefore it is necessary to be available to work both weekends and nights when required. Shifts will fluctuate to coincide with the busy Spruce Meadows Season.

RESPONSIBILITIES (included, But Are Not Limited To)

• Facilitate the hiring and day-to-day management of 1-2 Signage Crew personnel, including the management of hours/schedules, Signage Crew daily responsibilities, long term department planning.
• Ensure corporate signage materials are updated and make recommendations on inventory replacement.
• Coordinate with the graphics department on the creation of new signage (Spruce Meadows and corporate sponsorship signage).
• Facilitate the ordering and pickup of new signage materials.
• Ensure proper signage and display material is exhibited throughout Spruce Meadows at each Tournament, Special Event, or Function.
• Installation and removal of sponsor-related advertising boards throughout the grounds (including but not limited fences, arenas, grandstands, boards, frames and buildings (various types of material – mainly coroplast and vinyls but also metal, plastic and other construction materials).
• Plan, oversee and contribute to the installation and removal of flags throughout Spruce Meadows.
• Installing graphics on temporary structures, glass or vehicles as directed.
• Keeping inventory of flags and signage (including advertising boards) Basic maintenance on flags and signage (including advertising boards)
• Basic maintenance of equipment including (but not limited to) drills, ladders, etc…
• Off-site product delivery, set up and retrieval of signage and flags
• Other Duties as assigned.
  
  

Minimum Requirements

• Reliable transportation to and from work and a Class 5 driver’s license (there is no transit available to Spruce Meadows)
• Comfortable with working from ladders and/or heights
• Ability to move quickly and carry heavy loads
• Strong time management skills
• Strong team approach and willingness to assist others when necessary
• Ability to problem solve and exhibit conflict resolution skills
• Equipment Certifications: Forklift, Skid Steer, Fall arrest (Asset)
• Arial platform certification (Strong Asset)
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends and evenings in listed dates of employment.
• Current certificate in Standard First Aid & CPR Level C (Asset)
• Ability to speak a second language fluently (Asset)

Work is in a fast-paced work environment. Successful applicants must be willing to work in a variety of different settings and must work well in both team and individual scenarios. The Spruce Meadows venue operates in all weather conditions, from early mornings into late nights and on weekends.
