Community Services currently has a Program Coordinator opportunity on their Physical Activity Experiences Team, within the Community Recreation and Culture Branch. This role focuses on the development and delivery of free, low cost, registered and partnered physical activity programs for women and girls. The successful candidate will function as a vital member of the Physical Activity Experiences Team, developing, supervising, and evaluating program delivery and coordinating dryland space allocation in recreation centres.
What you will do:
Up to 1 Temporary up to 18 months positions in accordance with Article 18.02 of the Collective Agreement
Hours of work: 33.75 per week. Some evening and weekend work may be required
Salary: $29.918 - $37.546 (Hourly); $52,708.040 - $66,146.670 (Annually)

What you will do:
- Recruit, hire, train, lead, evaluate and supervise program staff and volunteers
- Coordinate publicity, book facilities, organize supplies and registration for assigned programs
- Ensure program and participant safety procedures are being followed
- Collaborate with organizations, agencies and individuals on specific programs Providing excellent internal and external customer service including parents, yielding 311 phone calls, etc.
- Develop programs and program resources within established registration, revenue, and expenditure guidelines
- Coordinate program implementation; determine facility space, equipment, supplies and ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to Monitor program budget and cash handling procedures
- Provide status reports to the supervisor on all activities
- Coordinate dryland space allocation in recreation centres
- Other related duties as required
- Degree or Diploma in Recreational/Physical Education/Leisure Studies or a related discipline, with training in program development
- Minimum 1-year full-time experience in program delivery; experience must focus on recreation and sport programs with a focus on gender equity
- Supervisory experience including coaching and mentoring staff is required
- Experience in budget monitoring and reporting
- Current knowledge of successful processes for developing, delivering, and evaluating programs
- A team-focused individual with outstanding skills in the areas of communication (verbal, written and presentation/facilitation), problem-solving, organization, time management, conflict resolution, as well as a proven track record in providing excellent customer service; exemplary interpersonal skills neede d
- Strong leadership skills, computer skills, and a demonstrated ability to provide quality customer service
- Proficiency with computers and programs such as Google, Microsoft Office and intelli

- Must obtain business auto insurance for personal vehicle use on City business
- Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton

- The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance
