McMillan has an exciting opportunity as a Legal Administrative Assistant in our Vancouver Litigation group. As a member of the team, you will play a key role in managing legal and administrative aspects of the practice for three successful lawyers.
Please note that this role offers a hybrid workweek. Each week will combine both working at home for a few days and working in the office for the balance. Your hybrid schedule will start once you join McMillan!
What You’ll Do
You will be the go-to person for your team who will depend on your guidance and support to keep them organized. As their champion, you will be involved in a wide variety of administrative tasks, including drafting correspondence, management, and organization of documents in our document system, office and file organization, coordinating and scheduling meetings, calendar management, and leveraging technology to service clients in an efficient and effective manner. Experience in corporate commercial litigation would be an asset.
Your Litigation tasks include drafting court documents, court searches, scheduling various applications, hearing/pre-trial and hearing/trial preparation including application records, as well as managing the maintenance of all pleadings binders and limitation systems.
What You Bring
You have established yourself as a key resource in your successful legal career. Your history includes a Legal Assistant Diploma, coupled with a minimum of five years of litigation related experience. You have strong administrative, organizational and interpersonal skills. You are detail-oriented and are able to effectively meet deadlines, work well in a team setting, and provide an exceptional level of client service. You embrace evolving technology and have strong skills in Adobe, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Prior experience with Desksite, IntApp and 3E or similar document management, file opening and accounting software required.
In addition, you possess a willingness to learn, grow, embrace new challenges, and strive for excellence in your work product. You are solution-oriented and believe in frequent and open communication. You know that successful teams are collaborative, and that members combine their individual efforts and skills to get the best results.

Salary range: $58,000 - $68,000 annually
