A Day In The Life

  • Develop and support customer relationships to maintain and grow sales for NFL products and services.
  • Develop technical understanding of company product lines (ISO Clip, Accuform, Accumet, Axiom and STX).
  • Develop thorough understanding of NFL product applications, best practices, supply chain and vendors, and understanding of manufacturing process.
  • Work collaboratively with the Business Development Team to achieve NFL sales targets and growth strategy.
  • Conduct presentations on product applications and best practice installation.
  • Prepare or modify product specifications for architects and specification writers in conjunction with our technical team.
  • Refer sales opportunities for NFL products/services to NFL Business Development representatives and other Flynn Representatives accordingly.
  • Regularly contact and support General Contractors, Architectural and Engineering firms with our network of ISO Clip product distributors to provide product updates and technical assistance; make note of any current or future projects.
  • Work with Architects/Consultants in the design stages of a prospective projects to ensure specification of NFL products.
  • Utilize product specification software (CMD) to generate business/project leads; regularly distribute these leads to customers/distributors and follow-up.
  • Respond to customer questions and inquiries – ensuring adherence to NFL’s customer service standards.
  • Work with the Estimating Department to provide solutions to bidding prospects; ensure completeness of scope, as well as strategic planning for pricing.
  • Attend industry and association events: trade show, conferences etc.; provide feedback on market opportunities, threats, and trends; update our Customer Relations Management-CRM system
  • Assist in the team with marketing and strategy planning; keeping abreast of building codes, standards and test requirements to ensure alignment with our business and product offerings.
  • All other duties assigned.

What We Are Seeking

  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in the construction industry and in a similar role (business development, technical sales).
  • Must have knowledge of building detailing and building connections. Knowledge of building envelope is considered an asset as is an asset.
  • Completion of a college diploma related to the construction industry ( architecture, engineering, building sciences etc).
  • Demonstrated ability to understand architectural drawings and specifications
  • Demonstrated success in managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written & verbal.
  • Previous experience facilitating presentations at architect and client level.
  • Team-oriented, collaborative and experience in participating in cross-functional projects
  • Proficiency with MS Office package.
  • Able and willing to travel for business meetings and trade events within Canada and the USA.
