Machinist - Journeyman

Main Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate products
• Must have sufficient experience in the safe operation of a motorized lathe, milling machine, surface grinder and a drill press at a minimum.
• Operate machine tools such as: Horizontal boring mill, conventional type mill, lathes, surface grinder, radial drill and portable align boring equipment
• Operate metal shaping machines, such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening, and bending machines
• Work in a safe and effective manner
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

Required Skills

• Extensive manual machining experience required
• Must be well experienced on Manual Lathes, Manual Milling Machines, Vertical/Horizon Boring Mills, Radial Arm Drills and drill press
• Must be familiar with pumps, Motors and Valves
• CNC experience, Machinist/Millwright, dual ticketed would be an asset

• Valid Red Seal or Journeyman Certificate (Trade credential must be recognized in Alberta)
• H2S Alive
• Fall Protection
• Confined Space
• WHMIS 2015
• One of the following Valid Safety Tickets; CSO,BSO or CSTS-09
  
  

WORKING CONDITIONS

• 7&7 (Shift Cycle is subject to change)
• Night shift
• Charter flights to/from Edmonton or Calgary to/from Site
• Camp accommodations
• Ability to lift and carry objects independently or as a team
• Ability to meet and maintain site access requirements
