Irving Shipbuilding is one of the most modern shipyards in North America, defined by its pace and appetite for change. Irving Shipbuilding is building more than 20 Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ships and River-Class Destroyers as part of the largest and most complex shipbuilding initiative in Canadian history. As a Project Lead you play a critical role to help assist Project Managers in the delivery of projects. We are looking for a Project lead that knows what it takes to bring things across the line with strong attention to detail. You will be a collaborative member of our team that will be pivotal in the coordination and delivery of a diverse set of initiatives that will enhance the business.

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Responsibilities

  • Assists Project Managers in the delivery of projects
  • Able to lead small projects to meet the needs of the business
  • Effective Management of the scope, cost, and schedule of projects
  • Effective issue management
  • Communication to project team and business stakeholders
  • Management of the project document library
  • Assists in charter and stage gate documents

Qualifications

  • Education required: University Degree in business Administration or Computer Science
  • 2-3 years of Project Management or Coordination experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Toolset and Scheduling tools
  • Proficient in the use of Clarity, Open WorkBench, and Azure DevOps
  • A practiced communicator with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills    

Bonus:

  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
