Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Provide subject matter expertise on engineering projects for engineering surveying and survey adjustment calculations.
  • Utilize GIS technology for spatial data analysis and mapping.
  • Work with internal/external clients to produce deliverables, solutions, and automations.
  • Have working experience with automation, programming, and big data.
  • Undertake spatial and non-spatial data analysis.
  • Support the Location Intelligence team to deliver client requests.
  • Collaborate with GHD Digital members to develop and maintain GIS and associated business systems, including in-house and third-party software systems.
  • Participate in the design, development, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and enforcement of policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Develop training courses and perform client training of new and planned systems and/or applications as needed.
  • Conduct GNSS and/or drone surveys as needed.

As the ideal candidate, you are familiar with consulting, large engineering projects, and local government workings, have a strong background in applied geospatial sciences and/or geomatics engineering, and work well in multi-disciplinary teams. You have the capability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and clearly communicate challenges and alternative solutions that map to our core assets and solve our customers’ business needs.

What you will bring to the team:

  • A 4-year relevant degree or higher in geomatics, engineering, surveying, or a related field16.
  • At least 2 years of proven experience in all the following: geodetic surveys, GIS, engineering surveys, GNSS surveys, and survey adjustment calculations.
  • 2-5 years of successful technical delivery or technical leadership in a consultative or solution-oriented team-based environment.
  • Proven expertise in the Esri suite of products including Online, Enterprise (Portal), Web, and Mobile Applications.
  • Strong understanding of the business application of geospatial sciences and geomatics engineering across various civil and environmental engineering disciplines (structure, infrastructure, environment, water, energy, transport, etc.).
  • Experience in winning and successfully delivering GIS work for public or private sector clients.
  • Experience in identifying new opportunities with existing customers.
  • A keen desire to understand current and future challenges facing businesses and develop novel and practical solutions.
  • Strong familiarity with Canadian and Ontario Surveying Standards and Manuals
  • The ability to work closely with a varied team of data scientists, data engineers, and software developers, making the best use of this capability to offer innovative solutions for our clients.
  • Capable of providing clear, precise, and effective communication in written and verbal format to both internal and external audiences.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, planning, and problem-solving skills.
