Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Project Engineer, Electrical & Instrumentation on a permanent basis at our Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC). This position requires on-site work and is based in Regina, SK.


We operate a world-class refinery that utilizes cutting-edge technology to produce 130,000 barrels of refined petroleum products per day and an annual production capacity of 6.8 billion liters. As one of Canada’s largest refineries we employ over 1,000 people. What you’ll do:

You will demonstrate practical understanding of fundamental engineering principles by using established technical standards, interpretation of regulatory or codified requirements, and interpretation of industry best practices or standards.

  • Effectively manage projects from pre-feed to commissioning and start-up.
  • Collaborate with team members, project owners and sponsors and senior management to deliver projects on schedule and on budget.
  • Work with Procurement and Construction teams throughout the project to ensure work is completed in accordance with project strategy and schedule.
  • Responsible for maintaining cost reports, cash flow and overall schedule for the project.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts during all phases of the project, while aligning with project goals and objective as well as risk management.
  • Make decisions throughout the different phases of the project, utilizing professional and technical expertise, to ensure project is delivered safely, efficiently and meets stakeholder expectations.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Engineering & Engineering Technology and:

  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering or equivalent.
  • Have 6-10 years of directly related experience in refinery operations or an industrial setting.
  • You are registered as Professional Engineer (P. Eng).designation.
  • Experience with Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of electrical CEC and NEC code and industry standards such as IEEE, ANSI, NFPA, and CSA.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
