Job Tasks Process monthly journal entries with a focus on accuracy and adherence to accounting standards, ensuring timely posting to the General Ledger. Prepare and analyze financial variance reports to understand changes and trends for the period, providing insights to management. Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations, ensuring all accounts are accurately reconciled and discrepancies are promptly addressed. Resolve any General Ledger queries in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring accurate financial records. Drive the month-end close process, ensuring all entries are accurately posted within the timeline. Collaborate with the team to meet deadlines and allow for adequate review time. Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports. Ensure all bank transactions are accurately recorded and posted by month-end, maintaining accurate and up-to-date reconciliations. Prepare and file HST/GST/QST monthly returns, ensuring timely payments and accurate reporting. Assist external auditors and internal teams with inquiries related to Income Tax, Sales Tax, and other tax matters. Develop, implement, and maintain SOX compliance processes and documentation, ensuring effective internal controls are in place. Work closely with the Finance Director to identify and address any gaps in financial controls or processes, proactively recommending improvements. Support the external and internal audit team during SOX testing and annual audits. What you'll need: CPA Designation is required. Minimum 3 years’ experience in General Ledger Accounting, preferably within a large, international organization, with prior experience in a Finance Manager role. Strong proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, and SUMIF functions. Highly organized, with excellent skills in prioritization and managing multiple tasks effectively. Proven ability to build strong working relationships and interact confidently with both internal teams and external stakeholders. Self-motivated, energetic, and detail-oriented, with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Capable of working under pressure, meeting tight deadlines, and maintaining composure in a fast-paced environment.
