The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our dynamic Data Analytics team. Reporting to the Supervisor, Advanced Analytics, the successful candidate will play an integral part in developing advanced analytics, predictive models, and data-driven solutions that inform strategic decision-making across all facets of our oil & gas business.

The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our dynamic Data Analytics team. Reporting to the Supervisor, Advanced Analytics, the successful candidate will play an integral part in developing advanced analytics, predictive models, and data-driven solutions that inform strategic decision-making across all facets of our oil & gas business.
Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Modeling
- Identify, collect, and transform large datasets into actionable insights using statistical techniques, machine learning models, and predictive analytics
- Develop and maintain data pipelines to ensure efficient data ingestion, processing, and storage
- Design, implement, and iterate on predictive models and algorithms to optimize operational performance, reduce costs, and support business growth
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy machine learning solutions and automate processes where possible
- Build dashboards, visualizations, interfaces, and reports that effectively communicate complex analytical results to non-technical stakeholders
- Translate business challenges into data-driven solutions, proactively identifying new opportunities for innovation and efficiency
- Support delivery and adoption of new and existing tools and workflows
- Work within an agile framework to rapidly prototype, test, and refine solutions
- Promote best practices in data science, including code quality, version control, MLOps, and collaboration tools
- Stay current with the latest analytics, AI/ML, and data engineering trends to continually improve data science capabilities at ARC
Working with cutting edge infrastructure and tools including Databricks, Github Copilot, Azure IOT, and many more, you will solve challenging business problems requiring the application of advanced data science across Engineering, Drilling, Completions, Geosciences, Marketing, and Environmental. In addition, the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science, statistics, engineering, or a related field
- A minimum of 7 years of experience working with large datasets, predictive models, dashboards, and visualizations to develop data-driven solutions
- Prior experience in the oil and gas industry is a major an asset
- Proven track record of building and deploying machine learning models, such as regression, classification, time series, or deep learning
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL, with exposure to cloud-based data platforms
- Strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to tackle complex analytical challenges and deliver tangible business value
- Excellent communication skills, enabling you to translate technical findings into practical, actionable insights
- Hands-on experience with big data technologies, data pipelines, and real-time/batch processing frameworks is an asset (e.g. Databricks)
