Your Role And Responsibilities

IBM TechXchange team is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our Communications team as Internal Communications Lead. This is a 13–14 month assignment. In this role, you will be responsible for creating/editing engaging and informative content across various TechXchange programs & platforms including w3/publisher, Seismic, blogs, and promotional materials. The ideal candidate should have a strong command of the English language, excellent writing skills, and a passion for creating compelling content that resonates with our target audience of technologists and business practitioners.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

Write clear, concise, and engaging content for various communication channels, including website, blog posts, social media, email newsletters, press releases, and more.

  • Research industry-related topics and trends to generate ideas for content.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within TechXchange including global event, regional face-to-face events, community activities, etc. as well as other teams across IBM.
  • Edit and proofread content across all of TechXchange platforms to ensure high quality and consistency.
  • Create compelling headlines and calls-to-action to attract and retain audiences.
  • Contribute to the development of content calendars and schedules.
  • Ensure content adheres to brand guidelines and effectively communicates key messages.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a Content Writer, Copywriter, or similar role.
  • Excellent command of the English language and grammar.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong research skills and ability to gather information from multiple sources.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic communication and project management skills and ability to work on simultaneous high visibility projects.
  • Experience with tools and approaches to communications – including digital publishing, design, video production, metrics, and email tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
