Position Summary
The selected candidate will primarily provide support in the design, detail, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of automation and work-holding (jigs and fixtures) projects. Additional items may include support of manufacturing operations such as machining, metal forming, welding/brazing, assembly, and material handling within “The Centre” and/or other Linamar facilities as needed. They will act as a resource to assist and troubleshoot manufacturing and quality issues gather problem related data and provide input.

Key Accountabilities
- Design / detail work holding and automation projects.
- Support of projects through tooling drawings, process specifications, process flows, process sheets, FMEA’s, and control plans.
- Support release of project drawings and information flow to the manufacturing team.
- Support of Project Management team with cycle time studies, quality review, the process can produce parts to manufacturing specifications by review of Cp and Cpk of parts being manufactured.
- Support in planning and executing of facility projects related to new and pre-existing projects, product lines, improvements, upgrades, layouts, and new equipment related to machining or assembly.
- Support documentation and information flow for machine manuals, schematics, and machine safety on projects as needed to customer and suppliers.
- Participate in actions to meet ongoing cost, quality, and delivery.
- Assist in the preparations of quotations.
- Investigate and find resolution of specific processing problems for assigned projects/parts.
- Assist in the recognition and resolution of process related difficulties with current and future projects.
- Graduate of mechanical and/or industrial engineering from a recognized university or equivalent
- Ability to track data for many performance and process related issues and communicate to the team.
- Ability to determine which materials and equipment to use for projects and decide the appropriate codes and standards to apply when completing these projects.
- Understanding of electrical and electronic schematic diagrams, blueprints and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
- Ability to coordinate and integrate work within teams of engineers and technicians to work on common projects.
- Excellent time management skills
