Dispatcher

Position Summary

  • Monitor and assist in balancing the daily workload of locate requests amongst the individual locators.
  • Monitor the workload progress from receipt of the request to the completed work.
  • Review daily reports, communicating with locators and/or supervisors to identify and resolve issues that arise from workforce vs load planning.
  • Assist in coordinating meets with excavators and/or our utility customers as requested by the Damage Prevention Technician (DPT) to facilitate the locate process.
  • Update work order database with all pertinent information regarding the Locate Request.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and locators to resolve any enquiries/complaints with respect to individual Locate Requests .

  • The ability to work independently and manage a workload to meet necessary deadlines
  • Good customer services skills
  • Proficient use of a computer
  • The ability to problem solve and demonstrate good judgment as situations dictate

Qualifications

  • Solid knowledge of Ontario geography.
  • Previous experience in utilizing workload management software is a plus.
  • Understanding of infrastructure mapping for a buried utilities would be helpful.
