This is a permanent position with a hourly rate range of $21.15-$36.06, starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location. We are also committed to flexible work hours and schedules, team-based work, and cross-training opportunities.

The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows:
- Actively contribute to maintaining Montrose’s strong safety culture
- Collaborate with engineers, technologists, and environmental scientists to create drawing packages using AutoDesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD, including: conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs for water management plans, municipal infrastructure (e.g., storm sewer and stormwater management facilities), riverbank improvements, bridges and culverts, pipeline watercourse crossings, and natural channel designs
- Conduct topographic surveys, construction supervision, field engineering, and other data collection activities
- Interpret field notes and use digital field returns such as, site photography, UAV imagery, and survey data, to prepare deliverables
- Produce 2D drawings and figures such as site plans, profiles, and cross-sections
- Build surfaces, alignments, profiles and corridors
- Interpret survey data for final technical reports or drawing packages
- Experience in a fast-paced, client and team-focused environment is preferred.
- College diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the water resource sector, preferably in consulting
- Professional Designation of C.Tech, CET, P.Tech or ability to obtain within 2 years. Working towards a P.L.Eng. would also be considered an asset
- Proficient in AutoDesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD
- Knowledge of Globalmapper, Autodesk Recap, or GIS related programs an asset.
- Willing to travel and work in urban and remote locations across Alberta
- Experience using survey equipment, including high precision GPS units, Total Stations and UAVs
- Experience working on a construction sites around heavy equipment
- Comfortable working in and around watercourses, including swift water and ice conditions
- Self-motivated with strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Able to prioritize deadlines, track project status, and facilitate progress on multiple projects
- Flexible to meet client-driven deliverables
- Valid class 5 driver’s license
