What To Expect
Tesla Toronto Automation builds automated equipment to support the assembly of Tesla products around the world. We seek an Inventory Control Technician to support the control and movement of materials flowing through our modern air-conditioned facility in Markham, ON. The technician will primarily receive materials from the S&R group and ensure that the correct materials were received in good order, then issue to projects, and move them into our warehouse. They will also collect and pack parts per kitting requests for delivery to the assembly floor, ensuring that the correct parts were found, are safe and secure, and ready in a timely fashion. The candidate will be cross trained to support other Inventory Dept duties as needed by the business. They will interact with employees of all levels in different areas of our factory and organization. The role is full time day shift 44hrs/week with OT sometimes required per business needs. What You'll Do
Receive, verify, inspect, count, receive into ERP, issue to projects, and place materials into the warehouse according to procedures, as well as collect, verify, pack, load kitted materials according to kitting request procedures Load and unload materials onto or from carts/pallets/racks, for movement or storage, by hand or using equipment Perform cycle counts and assist with periodic physical inventory counts During business hours, respond to calls and inquiries concerning materials received and dispatched, kitting requests, ERP transactions, and other related matters Maintain good housekeeping and proper safety practices in work area, and maintain close adherence to warehouse safety standards Part-time support of off-site inventory locations (currently in Richmond Hill and Scarborough) as required Other duties may be assigned to meet the needs of the business
What You'll Bring
Experience running a stand-up reach truck is required, and experience running a counterbalance type forklift, pallet jacks and dollies is preferred Able to push, pull, and lift to 50 lbs., able to regularly climb and reach, and able to stand or walk for most or all of the scheduled shift Able to plan, organize and manage multiple projects with competing demands and deadlines Excellent computer knowledge and skills in Microsoft Excel (experience with simple formulas is required, and macro experience is an asset), and other MS Office Suite products (Word, Outlook). Excellent proficiency with business e-mail, and prior experience accurately completing data entry into ERP system required Ability to work well with others as a collaborator, interact with employees of all levels in different areas of the business, and provide excellent customer service Flexibility to be assigned other duties as needed Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
