Job Description

The Taxonomy & Equipment Standards Analyst is the company's subject matter expert on equipment descriptions, equipment standards, and equipment data collection processes. This person is the go-to for QA on highly specialized equipment and may do the same at the appraisal stage of the asset life cycle. The Taxonomy & Equipment Standards Analyst role master's a thorough knowledge in all areas/activities relating to taxonomy, equipment standards, equipment descriptions, and the use of MARS, Detailed Equipment Information (DEI), I-inspector, IP-Web, Mercury, Sale Site, and AS400. The job focuses on the development of enterprise taxonomy and global equipment standards.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal and vendor development teams to guide development for new technology and enhance the Checklist Management Tool, Make Model Type Management Tool, Taxonomy Management Tool
  • Utilize systems to administer photo and video standards
  • Taxonomy and equipment standards testing and QC in MARS, IP Web, I-Inspector, DEI, AS400, FAIM, and Mercury.
  • Design taxonomy structure that drives inspection tools, SEO, and the customer experience on our selling platforms and applications. This includes the maintenance of (add, remove, rename, consolidate, reorganize) the asset taxonomy structure such as sector, industry, categories, and asset types.
  • Research and update the taxonomy and equipment standards manual; communicate changes to all taxonomy consumers and stakeholders.
  • Align the taxonomy of other marketplaces to have a single source for enterprise taxonomy
  • Map customer taxonomies to the enterprise taxonomy.
  • Design inspection reports that follow global industry standards but keep local regionalisms into account
  • Update content in the equipment standards manual to reflect what is captured in the inspection checklists
  • Communicate changes to the organization.
  • Force standards across the organization through QA checks
  • Coordinate with RBIO to train users on new technology and gather feedback
  • Create equipment specific inspection checklists that cover relevant machine attributes
  • Assist inspectors in proper use of taxonomy and checklists.
  • Review high value and complex equipment inspections for technical correctness as needed.
  • Creation of non-auction customer specific checklists used in private marketplaces (Komatsu, Volvo, JLG, and Toyota)
  • Assist with all enterprise taxonomy deployments (RB Sites, IP ICA, Kruse, etc.)
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer experience or increase web-traffic by using SEO best practices and applying them to the checklists used throughout the organization
  • Flexible and willing to perform other tasks as assigned



Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience
  • Develop and design taxonomy structure that drives inspection tools, SEO, and the customer experience on our selling platforms and applications. This includes the maintenance of (add, remove, rename, consolidate, reorganize) the asset taxonomy structure such as sector, industry, categories, and asset types.
  • Assure taxonomy structure accounts for and accurately describes all equipment types and relevant Develop and design terminology and naming conventions for equipment types and categories as well as attributes in the descriptions and features.
  • Find common terms for equipment types and attributes that are not manufacture specific and can be used universally
  • Create and maintain photo standards in photo management apps
  • Create unique checklists for individual equipment types while maintaining an organized checklist management database.
  • Keeping up with the latest advancements in the industry and compensating where needed in both taxonomy and checklist management.
  • Assisting/teaching taxonomy consumers in the proper use of equipment data collection applications (iInspector, MARS Asset Manager, DEI, FAIM, AS400).
  • Assist with the system development/enhancements needed to manage taxonomy and checklists
  • Work with SEO to increase web traffic by using customer search patterns and keywords.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors year-round, and climb on and off large equipment and trucks
  • Up to 10% travel requirement
