Who We Are

You know those big cities that still feel like small towns? Where everyone’s friendly and helps each other out? That’s like Doane Grant Thornton. Except here we’re all professionals and there isn’t a mayor or a general store. What we’re trying to say is that we’re a large and growing professional services firm that still feels like a community. We employ over 3000 people across Canada, and we truly care about our colleagues, our clients and the communities where we work and live. That’s what’s most important to us. We’re building a thriving organization that’s purpose driven and still want to remember what your favourite milkshake flavour is.

As a Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager, you’ll assist our clients with corporate and personal tax planning to benefit from tax savings and incentives. Your responsibilities will include:

Client Experience: Take ownership of client relationships, working directly with them, to strengthen connections and enhance overall client services. Your expertise will lead these important relationships forward.

Strategic Tax Planning: Develop strategic tax planning solutions tailored to clients’ unique business needs.

Tax Advisory: Help clients navigate the complexities of Canadian Tax Matters, including corporate provisions, compliance succession, and estate planning, as well as reviewing T1, T2, and T3 returns as part of your advisory role

Proactive Issue Resolution: Utilize your in-depth technical expertise in corporate and personal tax planning and compliance to effectively resolve tax-related issues. Collaborate with clients and team members to develop effective tax solutions, establishing yourself as a reliable advisor who cares about their business success.

Mentorship: Coach and mentor, a team of colleagues on tax compliance, helping them walk in clients’ shoes by discussing tax planning options.

Business Development: Contribute to our growing tax practice by understanding the comprehensive needs of clients’ businesses. Identify and unlock new opportunities to meet their objectives and introduce them to our firm’s diverse offerings.
