A Snapshot of Your Day

This 4-month co-op/internship at Trench offers a unique opportunity to be part of the Strategic Procurement team, where you will play a key role in Supplier Management and Strategic Supply Chain Initiatives. During this experience, you will gain valuable insights into the indirect supply chain of a manufacturing environment and engage with a variety of supplier-related topics, including pricing strategies, contracts, negotiations, vendor management, and more.

Your Tasks:

  • Provide end to end support to the Strategic Manager in the Supplier Management Process, including contract negotiation, qualification, selection, evaluation, development, and classification.
  • Assist in the maintenance, organization, and distribution of procurement records and information (procurement procedures, policies, price lists, contracts, supplier evaluations etc.).
  • Analyze and create procurement data reports using Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Request for quotes and analyze for Total Cost of Ownership including cost calculations and comparisons.
  • Manage the vendor setup process.


Requirements:

  • Student must be working towards an undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Commerce or Business Administration and must be in their 2nd year or higher.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS-PowerPoint and MS Excel is an asset.
  • Excellent spoken and written, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Self-driven, resourceful, and has a strong work ethic to achieve goals independently and work well in groups.
