THE ROLE
STRIVE Recruitment is currently partnering with a privately held financial services organization based in Surrey, BC, to find an experienced and driven Controller. This organization provides customized lending solutions across a broad portfolio of industries, including construction, logistics, real estate development, and equipment services.
This is a fantastic Controller opportunity where you will lead the accounting function for a growing and dynamic group of companies that takes pride in its entrepreneurial mindset and strong relationships with clients and lending partners.
As the Controller, you will be a key member of the leadership team—responsible for managing multi-entity financials, overseeing tax compliance (including partnership filings), developing cash flow forecasts, and maintaining key banking and lending relationships.

As the Controller, you will be a key member of the leadership team—responsible for managing multi-entity financials, overseeing tax compliance (including partnership filings), developing cash flow forecasts, and maintaining key banking and lending relationships.
Responsibilities
- Leading the accounting function for a group of active lending and investment entities
- Managing multi-entity financials, intercompany reconciliations, and consolidated reporting
- Overseeing corporate and partnership tax filings, including collaboration with external tax advisors
- Preparing detailed cash flow forecasts to support lending and operational decisions
- Acting as the primary contact for banks and lenders, including covenant monitoring and reporting
- Providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Leading, mentoring, and growing a small accounting team
- Enhancing systems, processes, and internal controls to support continued scale
- Must have a Bachelors Degree and CPA designation
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with strong leadership and multi-entity experience
- In-depth knowledge of intercompany reconciliations and partnership tax filings
- Experience in a financial services or lending environment is a strong asset
- Strategic thinker with hands-on experience in accounting operations
