You As a Senior Heavy Civil Estimator
- Capable of effectively training, mentoring, and managing multiple estimates simultaneously
- Analyze contract documents (drawings, specifications, contract deliverables, etc.) to prepare self perform cost estimates of projects for earthworks (site development, road building, detail excavation).
- Assemble accurate, timely and well-organized estimates, including hard-bid, construction management and design-build.
- Prepare quantity take offs.
- Organize sub-contractor quotes when the bid is successful, re-writing binders and assisting the buy-out process.
- Set-up new cost estimates in bidding software.
- Develop schedule for accuracy and determine production rates.
- Contact subcontractors and vendors for specific divisions to get external pricing.
- Monitor the success of a project, noting potential challenges and building relationships with sub-trades for future opportunities.
- Identify potential project risks.
- Attend pretender meetings & site visits, where applicable.
- Work with proposal & operations teams in writing execution methodology, safety plans, Indigenous Engagement Strategies, and quality documentation.
- Present Estimate to management for Review.
- 8+ years of Civil Estimating experience is required.
- 3+ years of Civil Construction, Project Management, and Field Experience is an asset.
- Familiarity with B2W suite is an asset
- Self-motivated, energetic, and reliable with a positive disposition
- Good communicator with attention to detail and good documentation skills.
