Job Summary
The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for delivering innovative and creative designs for print, digital, and web platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of brand standards and guidelines, strong collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliers, and effective management of the design team's projects and tasks.
Principal Responsibilities
- Create and deliver unique and engaging designs, concepts, and layouts for various mediums including print, digital (email, social media, ads), and websites, ensuring alignment with branding guidelines.
- Maintain and enhance brand standards and guidelines through personal and team contributions.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and key suppliers.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to discuss and understand business objectives and design requirements from conception to completion.
- Manage the design team's project calendar to ensure timely completion of key business deadlines; communicate with the marketing team and other stakeholders to update and manage the team's workload.
- Lead the organization and maintenance of design drive folders, ensuring all artwork files and final creative assets are clearly named, filed, and accessible.
- Stay updated on relevant and new design techniques, technologies, and print tools, and share this knowledge with direct reports.
- Ensure all design work, including special projects, is completed on time and within budget, and that any external print orders are cost-effective and necessary.
- Minimum of 5 years of graphic design experience.
- Relevant post-secondary education in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with video and motion graphics, Adobe After Effects, and digital animation.
- Knowledge of printing requirements, including prepress and press approvals.
- Familiarity with the latest design methods, practices, techniques, and principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
- Previous experience in managing people or graphic designers is an asset but not required.
- Knowledge of project management software like Monday.com is a nice-to-have.
