What You Will Do:
As the Manager, Regulatory, you will play an essential role within our Regulatory Affairs department, reporting to the Director, Regulatory Affairs. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Planning and managing regulatory filings, researching, financial modelling, preparing business cases, and related activities with respect to rates applications, regulatory compliance filings, code of conduct filings, negotiated settlements, debt and equity financing, internal regulatory reporting, and industry roundtable discussions and conferences;
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining practices and procedures that serve to mitigate risk to stakeholders and that are designed to ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory, industry, and other applicable standards and requirements;
- Providing oversight and leadership to the work group to support alignment of all activities with the Company’s values, vision, mission and strategic plans;
- Establishing and maintaining a positive and professional working relationship with relevant external stakeholders including regulators, government departments, municipalities, contractors, consultants, legal counsel, customers, and other industry contacts; and
- Developing and maintaining updates to the strategic plan financial model and planning document, under Executive management direction, to ensure consistency with current regulatory environment and alignment with the Company vision, mission, and strategic direction.
What You Will Bring:
Required qualifications:
- Professional Accounting Designation, or equivalent post-secondary education; and
- Minimum of seven (7) years of accounting/financial and business experience, preferably in regulatory environment including:
- Experience in research and development of business cases; and
- Experience in staff supervision and development.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Advanced MS Office Suite skills, including Excel and SharePoint;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind set;
- Excellent problem-solving skills;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Strong project management skills; and
- Strong understanding of accounting policies and procedures to assess and implement regulatory requirements and strategies.
