Job Description
As an Electrical Technician in Protection & Control (P&C), you will have the opportunity to participate in the design of high-level diagrams, develop protection philosophies, and contribute to large-scale electrical energy projects. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment and develop your skills by collaborating with experienced professionals, particularly on renewable projects related to substations and hydroelectric plants for our client Hydro-Québec. We offer a flexible hybrid work model, allowing you to work from home and from our Saguenay office.

Job Description
As an Electrical Technician in Protection & Control (P&C), you will have the opportunity to participate in the design of high-level diagrams, develop protection philosophies, and contribute to large-scale electrical energy projects. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment and develop your skills by collaborating with experienced professionals, particularly on renewable projects related to substations and hydroelectric plants for our client Hydro-Québec. We offer a flexible hybrid work model, allowing you to work from home and from our Saguenay office.
Main Responsibilities
- Design Control and Protection systems using 2D software (AutoCAD) & CAD (E3)
- Prepare project deliverables, including detailed drawings, electrical diagrams, layouts, equipment sizing, etc.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians in executing technical tasks
- Prepare plans, drawings, and calculations based on provided specifications
- Participate in the development of electrical Control and Protection systems, including single-line diagrams, logic diagrams, three-wire diagrams, protection and control diagrams, wiring drawings, device connection diagrams, assembly plans, material lists, and specifications for the manufacturing and installation of control and protection panels on site
- Participate in the development of AC and DC power systems, including single-line diagrams, AC and DC load calculations, distribution diagrams, charger connections, battery connections, inverters, etc.
- Participate in site surveys (substations and power plants)
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines: equipment, civil, mechanical, and building to develop optimized and advanced design solutions for substations and power plants
- Opportunity to perform occasional on-site work when the opportunity arises (commissioning or monitoring).
- College Diploma (DEC) in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- Basic proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Proficiency in French, both spoken and written
