Job Description
The Role
Wood is recruiting for a Senior HVAC Building Services Engineer to join its Minerals and Metals business focusing on large mining projects. Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, this opportunity is located at our Saskatoon office and would have overall responsibility for the delivery of Mechanical HVAC / Building Services Engineering on our major projects.

Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities
- Prepare HVAC, Fire Protection, Dust collection Design Criteria
- Prepare HVAC equipment, Dust collection, Plumbing and Drainage, Fire Protection equipment specifications
- Prepare HVAC calculations, HVAC schematics and P&IDs
- Prepare Plumbing and Drainage, Fire protection calculations and P&IDs
- Prepare Dust collection calculations and P&IDs
- Prepare HVAC, Dust Collection Equipment Data sheets
- Prepare Building Services related equipment list and MTOs
- Prepare Building Services related Equipment Packages for Procurement – technical inquires, requisitions and bid evaluations
- Review vendor documents
- Review other discipline’s documents for coordination
- Establish good working relationships and communication with project team members, leads, project management, department managers and clients.

Expected
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering coupled with proven mining experience in Potash or Uranium
- 10+ years of relevant experience in process gas ventilation systems, industrial ventilation control in workplace environments, and general HVAC design for industrial applications
- 5+ years of experience leading a team of engineers and designers, planning and delegating workload and deliverables
- Proven experience in applying ASHRAE Standards, ACGIH, Canadian Building Code, National Plumbing Code, CSA, ASME as it pertains to engineering design of large industrial projects
- Registered as a professional engineer with APEGS, with ability to register in multiple provinces as required
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Proven expertise using HAP and Fathom. Knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D design/drafting considered an asset
