Job Description

As a Technical Designer at Doka Canada, you will produce AutoCAD / Revit drawings and material lists that represent the proper use of Doka concrete forming equipment for customers. You will provide technical assistance to the sales department from the preliminary stage of a project to its completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create Drawings: Work with the sales team to create AutoCAD / Revit drawings during the proposal stage and finalize working drawings for site use, utilizing Doka forming systems.
  • Provide Material Lists: Generate material lists for quotations and shipments to the site.
  • Ensure Proper Use of Equipment: Ensure drawings indicate the proper use of Doka forming equipment and represent safe, economical, and efficient designs.
  • Conduct Analysis and Design Calculations: Provide analysis and design/price calculations as required, based on your level of experience and education.
  • Ensure Compliance with Inventory and Guidelines: Ensure designs are based on available inventory and conform to contractual guidelines.
  • Mentorship: Act as a mentor for a Junior Technical Designer assigned, providing guidance and support as needed.

Other Responsibilities

  • Participate in Job Site Visits: Proactively identify and address implementation issues during site visits, demonstrating your commitment to project success and customer satisfaction.
  • Support Company Initiatives: Engage in company committees and teams to contribute your expertise and insights, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in engineering (civil, construction, structural) and/or equivalent technical school education.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in concrete forming, shoring applications and design.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French
  • Experienced in AutoCAD (mandatory) and project computer applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience in Revit as an asset.
  • Qualitative abilities including strong analytical skills, technical proficiency and effective problem solving skills.
  • Organized team player able to work in a deadline driven, fast-paced and multi-cultural environment.
