The Facility Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair operations within a specific region. The Facility Operations Manager will play a critical role in ensuring optimal facility performance, high-quality maintenance services, and client satisfaction.

The Facility Operations Manager will play a critical role in ensuring optimal facility performance, high-quality maintenance services, and client satisfaction.
What You’ll Do
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for maintenance and repair operations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand maintenance and repair needs, goals, and objectives.
- Manage customer satisfaction, discuss any recommended changes to the overall program and the financial impact possible on facilities operations. Work with the operations team on results/expectations.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize facility performance, minimize downtime, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Oversee the delivery of maintenance and repair services, ensuring high-quality service delivery, compliance with standards, and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
- Monitor performance of maintenance vendors and contractors through key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align maintenance and repair activities with client requirements and operational goals.
- Support in developing and managing budgets for maintenance and repair operations, tracking expenses and identifying opportunities for cost optimization.
- Foster positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders associated.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, health and safety standards, and JLL's policies and procedures.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in facility maintenance and repair.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to assess the condition of facilities and identify maintenance needs.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs, schedules, and protocols to prolong asset lifespan and minimize disruptions.
- Verify accuracy and integrity of maintenance and repair data, ensuring appropriate documentation and controls are in place.
- Manages direct reports e.g. Engineers, Planner/Schedulers, 3rd party contractors/vendors, and/or temporary services. Provide on-site support as required to support and manage work efforts.
- Work with Engineering staff/ Client Engineering team to prioritize and assign duties that align with client/JLL goals and objectives (i.e repairs & maintenance, project planning and implementation, renovation efforts, energy conservation, safety goals, etc.)
- Assures compliance with JLL Management audit programs; JCAP, HSSE, and site policies, procedures and standard practices. Works with team on alignment and delivery.
- Manage compliance of required local, state/provincial and federal laws and regulations
- Respond to emergency calls.
- Performs additional job duties as requested.
- Support project development, continuous consultation, and commissioning.
- Support in audits such as ISO, Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), and asset/facility systems.
- Manages technical staff, including hiring, training, personnel development.
- 5 + years property management, maintenance & operations, leadership role. Experience in critical site / Data Center operations.
- Additional certification in one or more of the following: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, plumbing, or engine repair. Certifications / licenses as maybe required by local or state/provincial jurisdictions.
- Strong background in building maintenance required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facility Management, or a related field.
- Industry Certification from IFMA – BOMA - AFE - AAMP is preferred.
- Knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance principals and Root Cause Analyses.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to drive strategic initiatives and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent understanding of maintenance and repair principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance, and safety regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel within Canada as well as the US.
