ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE

Under the direction of the Health & Wellness Manager, the Health & Wellness Supervisor is responsible for planning and assisting with the care of residents in accordance with the philosophy, objectives and standards of Verve Senior Living.

Background/Qualifications

  • Has a recognized nursing license (CLPNA) and must be in good standing.
  • Has demonstrated excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Written and verbal fluency in English is required.
  • Must have proficient computer skills (i.e. Word and Excel).
  • Preference given to individuals with 2 or more years of experience working in seniors living.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participates in the Verve Quality Improvement (VQI) program.
  • Prepares daily LPN and HCA resident care assignments. Stays up to date on services provided and works with staff, residents and their families to meet the residents’ needs.
  • Assists Health & Wellness Manager with the resident’s file to ensure it is established, with proper documentation and safe practices related to care needs and medication administration processes.
  • Store all archived and year end documents accordingly.
  • Maintain all resident care files and computer systems (SARA, E-Mar, MEDe-care, POC).
  • Gives feedback and contributes to organizing a plan of care to promote resident independence based on legislation.
  • Participates with Health & Wellness Manager direction on updates regarding residents’ plan of care every 6 months (or as required).
  • Serves as a leader and helps develop employees to ensure an adequate level of service and job standard are achieved.
  • Assist with HCA and LPN scheduling as needed. On-call coverage every second weekend.
  • Assist with training and orientation for new staff members.
  • Assist with Outbreak tracking, preparation of Outbreak supplies.
  • Assists with tracking inventory and purchasing of medical supplies when required by Health & Wellness Manager.
  • Distributes medications as per resident medication times.
  • Performs treatments to all residents who require them within their area. Makes assessments regarding changes in a residents’ condition (i.e. falls, wounds, etc.).
  • Answers emergency calls from residents when needed, giving assistance where possible, and contacts professional help and/or family when necessary.
  • Ensures the safekeeping of all medications and nursing supplies in the home.
  • Complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems. This includes recognizing health and safety hazards, reporting incidents, fulfilling responsibilities under the applicable legislation, as well as participating in in-services and fire drills. Implements and ensures infection prevention control protocols are being followed.
  • Completes all required mandatory training/education.
  • Complies with all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related tasks as delegated by the Health and Wellness Manager or General Manager.
