We’re looking for a Junior Rewinder Operator who will be responsible for setting up and operating roll converting equipment efficiently for rewinding press rolls into finished roll products with minimal waste.

Working Hours

This role will be on a 2 week rotational shift, rotating from day shift (7am – 3pm), afternoon shift (3pm – 11pm) and midnight shift (11pm-7am).

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret order requirements on the production docket and set up press as required, ensuring to follow docket instructions.
  • Install shaft for different core sizes, set up shear knives or crush slitter wheels to slit rolls to accurate widths, adjust tension controls to job. Set label counter to stop machine at specific quantity, set slow down indicator. Maintain equipment and follow proper safety procedures.
  • Processing sequentially numbered orders, continually performing visual product inspection and adhere to packaging requirements.
  • Run converting equipment to maximum speed as determined by the job complexity and quality expectations for finished roll to roll products.
  • Troubleshoot problems such as die cutting, registration & finished roll tension.
  • Assist in other Label department functions as required, offline/inline packaging, product inspection and repairs.

Requirements

  • Completion of Secondary School Diploma, with strong math abilities
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs as required
  • Flexibility to work Monday to Friday on rotational shift, with ability to work overtime as required.
