Air Liquide Canada offers a unique opportunity for a licensed, heavy-duty mechanic (or registered apprentice) looking to enter into a diverse career working on engines, pumps, hydraulics and cryogenic trailers. The main object and purpose of this position is maintaining the various Trailers used by the Distribution Center based in Sherwood Park. Trailer maintenance will be performed safely and efficiently while promoting ALC quality and safety objectives.

  • Ensures the maintenance of trailers and cryogenic equipment: Ensures the daily and preventive maintenance of the cryogenic equipment and trailers operated by the Distribution Center in keeping with all of the applicable codes, standards and regulations, so as to maximize the efficiency of their use. Minimizes the costs of the maintenance activities and ensures their quality.
  • Manages the parts inventory: Makes sure to properly maintain the parts inventory. Documents the parts movements in the appropriate software.
  • Ensures maintenance and safety: Makes sure that the garage remains clean and safe. Makes sure that the parts depot is orderly at all times. Ensures maintenance of tools and equipment parts. Identifies all dangerous products in keeping with various program rules that apply. Always works in a safe manner. Identifies and takes part in correcting all sources of danger and accident risks.
  • Continuous improvement: Recommends any improvements that could minimize the costs and/or improve the quality of maintenance activities. Works closely with the members of the Distribution Center team to resolve any problems or find new ways of improving the efficiency of the Center’s activities.
  • Safety / Quality: Improves occupational health and safety. Takes part in promoting ALC safety objectives. Knows and respects all of the procedures provided in the Quality Manual. Implements adequate corrective and preventive measures in response to customer claims.

Are you a MATCH?

Here’s what you will need:

  • HET (Heavy Equipment Technician) Certificate OR registered apprentice
  • Good knowledge of recognized maintenance norms and standards for the industry, cryogenics, dangerous materials
  • Ability to work alone and in groups is a must
  • Valid class 5 license required
  • Shifts - Ability to work 10 hours/day (40 hours/week)
  • Experience with small engines, cryogenics and/or pressure vessels is an asset
  • Shifts - Ability to work Week 1 Mon-Thu, Week 2 Tue-Fri (40 hours/week, 10hrs/day) , 4 day workweek with possible OT.
