Jump Recruitment, on behalf of our client, Newfound Mechanical, are seeking to fill a Construction Manager position to join their team in Charlottetown, PEI.

Job Summary:

Seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee and coordinate all field crews, allocate work fronts, and ensure compliance with local codes, project drawings, and specifications. The Construction Manager will be responsible for maintaining and updating the project schedule, reporting directly to the Project Manager. They will also oversee a Field Coordinator and all trade workers on site, ensuring efficient site operations and communication with the General Contractor regarding progress and manpower needs.


Key Responsibilities:

Field Operations & Crew Management:

  • Supervise and manage all field crews, ensuring work is allocated efficiently and in line with project priorities.
  • Oversee and guide the Field Coordinator in daily operations and site coordination.
  • Ensure all work adheres to local building codes, project drawings, and specifications.
  • Monitor job site safety and enforce compliance with company and regulatory safety standards.

Scheduling & Planning:

  • Maintain and update the project schedule, ensuring alignment with overall project timelines.
  • Lead the weekly four-week look-ahead schedule to forecast upcoming work activities.
  • Assess and report manpower requirements for the upcoming month.

Progress Reporting & Coordination:

  • Provide regular progress updates to the General Contractor, ensuring clear communication on milestones and any potential delays.
  • Report project status, workforce needs, and schedule adjustments to the Project Manager.
  • Assist in resolving field-related issues that could impact project schedule or quality.
  • Work closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • years of experience in construction management, specifically in [commercial/industrial/residential] projects.
  • Strong knowledge of local building codes, construction methods, and industry best practices.
  • Experience managing multiple field crews and coordinating work across different job fronts.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage and resolve site issues efficiently.
  • OSHA certification and other relevant safety training preferred.


Work Environment:

  • Primarily field-based with some office work.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and handle the physical demands of a construction site.
