As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks.
Responsibilities
- Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments using accounting software.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Track accounts receivable, and follow up on overdue payments.
- Process accounts payable transactions, including verifying invoices, obtaining approvals, and issuing payments in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor and customer records, including contact information and payment terms.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including preparation of financial reports and statements.
- Conduct periodic audits of financial data to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Collaborate with the owners to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance internal controls.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a bookkeeper or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to reconcile complex accounts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of local tax regulations and compliance requirements is preferred.
