Description

Located out of Inter Pipelines Calgary corporate office, the Project Engineer will be part of a dynamic team responsible for the development and execution of Pipeline Integrity projects at Inter Pipeline Ltd. (IPL). The role supports Inter Pipeline’s strategies to ensure the safe, compliant and reliable operation of all assets. The Integrity Implementation team is responsible to plan and execute work including integrity digs, inline inspections, discontinuations and abandonments as well as other integrity related projects.


  • Ultimately responsible for the safe and efficient completion of projects in compliance with IPL standards, procedures as well as applicable regulations & codes
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination between all disciplines and project participants including all IPL stakeholders
  • Participate in design reviews and hazard assessments to ensure the design addresses all safety, environmental, regulatory, asset integrity and operational requirements
  • Coordination, development, and review of construction contracts
  • Create and update project schedules and forecasts throughout the project life cycle
  • Assist in the development of key project documents including design bases and execution plans
  • Actively manage program costs within the annual budget and provide monthly reporting on forecast, accrual and variance for managed projects
  • Ensure all projects are completed safely with minimal environmental impact, within all rules, regulations, and industry best practices


Education, Skills And Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Currently registered with APEGA
  • 5 - 15 years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated project management skills (planning, cost and scope tracking and reporting)
  • Knowledgeable in current operating standards, codes, rules and regulations that relate to pipeline integrity
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop key relationships with ease
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective time management, organizational skills, and attention to details
  • Ability to take initiative and work effectively both independently and in team settings
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)


Hours

Full time, Monday-Friday

Intermittent travel to construction sites and field locations within Alberta and Saskatchewan is required.

Employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of education verification and criminal background check assessment with satisfactory results.
