Workplace Arrangements

This role is 100% remote, with the option to work in a hybrid arrangement at our Ottawa Head Office 1-2 days a week, if the successful candidate prefers or is located in Ottawa.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop plans that are aligned to and support the approved strategy with Merchant as a key stakeholder. Plan, identify, and execute recommended store inventory exit strategies;
  • Partner with the Category Management team to plan Category seasonal financial contributions;
  • Prepare, plan, and make recommendations into the weekly and seasonal post-mortem;
  • Recommend in-season actions including markdowns to maximize sales, margin, and store inventory productivity while minimizing left-over inventory;
  • Deliver financial success by understanding and executing against inventory turns, margin, sales, and sales-to-plan targets.

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years of merchandise financial planning experience in a retail industry, preferably with a national retailer
  • Solid understanding of retail Merchandise Financial planning process and metrics
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to identify trends and propose actions plans
  • Strong communication skills; able to interact and negotiate with all levels of the organization, ability to present information in an effective and concise manner
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Detailed oriented and organized
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task within time constraints
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Assets You May Have

  • Experience with business intelligence software
  • Experience working in a large, multi-site national retailer
  • Bilingual (English/French)

Travel Requirements

  • Visiting local stores on a quarterly basis
