The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for providing support to the Human Resources team. The HR Assistant will assist with recruitment, retention, and other HR related initiatives as directed.

Major Responsibilities

  • Support the HR Team with all transactional HR functions.
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection processes, including posting jobs, screening resumes, prescreening phone interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Assist with the coordination and implementation of retention programs.
  • Connect with recently hired employees to ensure their experience at Arrow is positive, and answer questions they may have.
  • Work with various Divisions on process and protocols with recruitment campaigns.
  • Perform exit interviews.
  • Provide assistance in regards to research and HR Metrics (ie. salary and wage benchmarking, best practices, etc.).
  • Draft general forms, letters, reports, and memos as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by team.


Requirements

  • General understanding of HR practices
  • Completion of relevant post-secondary HR courses
  • Previous administrative experience in an office setting is an asset
  • Experience using social media/online tools ie. Facebook, LinkedIn, Indeed is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ability to quickly learn new computer applications i.e. Arrow custom applications
  • Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills both verbally and written
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Strong safety mindset
  • Possesses good ethics and integrity
  • Quality oriented, with strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Must be responsible, dependable, and professional
