Job Description

Some of what you will do:

The Salesforce Developer plays a key technical role within the Smart Sales Enablement team, focused on the development and innovation of Salesforce solutions to support strategic sales and business initiatives. This role is responsible for building scalable, code-based enhancements that improve system performance, unlock new capabilities, and drive long-term Salesforce innovation. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in Apex, Lightning, integrations, and system architecture to help elevate Salesforce as a powerful digital headquarters for Staples Canada’s sales team.

Specifically, You Will

  • Design and implement custom Salesforce solutions using Apex, LWC, Flow, and Visualforce.
  • Develop scalable applications and features to support enterprise-level projects (e.g., Opportunity Management, Rev Intel, Sales Engagement, Service Cloud Voice).
  • Build and maintain integrations with other systems (e.g., Alpha, Power BI, Vonage, Klue, Highspot).
  • Optimize performance of existing Salesforce features and conduct technical refactoring as needed.
  • Collaborate with IT partners and the SFDC admin team to establish system architecture best practices.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for innovation within Salesforce.
  • Partner with Enablement, BI, Marketing, and Sales to bring strategic initiatives to life (e.g., AI-powered workflows, dealer onboarding automations).
  • Troubleshoot advanced problems involving custom code, integrations, or system performance.
  • Provide guidance and technical support to the CRM support team when deeper development expertise is required.

Some Of What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Salesforce Developer certification required Advanced proficiency in Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), SOQL, and Flow Builder.
  • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and middleware integrations.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, governor limits, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with DevOps tools (e.g., Copado, Gearset) and source control.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • 5–7 years of hands-on Salesforce development experience.
  • Experience supporting large-scale Salesforce deployments or major business process overhauls.
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I required; Platform Developer II or Architect certifications a strong asset.
