We’re looking for a hands-on, product-minded AI & Data Product Engineer to join WHC’s Product Team and lead the charge on AI-first innovation. You’ll help define, prototype, and implement AI-driven experiences and internal tools that empower our clients and team. You’ll also take on key data science responsibilities as we ramp up hiring for that function.

About The Role
We’re looking for a hands-on, product-minded AI & Data Product Engineer to join WHC’s Product Team and lead the charge on AI-first innovation. You’ll help define, prototype, and implement AI-driven experiences and internal tools that empower our clients and team. You’ll also take on key data science responsibilities as we ramp up hiring for that function.
This is a strategic, cross-functional role that will shape the future of AI at WHC.
What You'll Do
- Building AI prototypes and MVPs across domains (chatbots, recommendations, automation, NLP/NLU, etc.) Collaborating with Product Managers, UX, and Engineering to launch AI-first features
- Working with internal data to surface insights and drive data-powered decision-making
- Work with internal teams (Support, Marketing, Dev, Finance) to identify automation opportunities (e.g., ticket classification, smart replies, churn prediction)
- Developing internal tools for automation and knowledge management (e.g., support ticket classification, churn prediction)
- Helping define AI strategy and architecture within the product roadmap
- Exploring and integrating third-party LLMs and AI APIs (OpenAI, Claude, etc.)
- Ensuring data privacy and compliance (especially within Canadian infrastructure context)
Qualifications
- Have 3+ years experience with PHP, Python or Node.js, and have shipped production-grade software
- Know your way around modern AI/ML tooling (LangChain, OpenAI API, RAG, CAG, vector databases, etc.)
- Are familiar with LLMs, vector databases, prompt engineering, and AI APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.)
- You are familiar with data classification, data extraction and embeddings.
- Are comfortable analyzing and manipulating large datasets (SQL, Pandas, or equivalent)
- Understand how to communicate data findings to a cross-functional team in plain terms
- Are curious, pragmatic, and collaborative—you think product-first, not tech-only
- Bonus: experience in web hosting, SaaS, or customer support automation
