Ocean Infinity is seeking a Buyer to assist and support the buyer to manage procurement for Ocean Infinity Solutions Corporation. The Buyer will be expected to be honest, pragmatic and an excellent communicator. You will both be able to complete solo tasks and contribute effectively in a team environment. You will be friendly, co-operative and genuinely engaged in the work we are doing. You have a strong sense of curiosity and a desire to “learn by doing." However, you will also have a firm grounding in supply chain management.


What you will do:

  • Support the buyer with general purchasing functions in areas where needed;
  • Support the buyer in in various categories of procurement activities such as, but not limited to:

1. Facilities

2. Office

3. Warehouse

4. Contractors

5. QC RMA’s

6. Engineering Change Revisions (ECR), change orders (CO).

  • Proactively engage with suppliers to align anticipated delivery dates vs firmed delivery dates;
  • Assist with scheduling of shipments, generation of required waybills/BOLs and packing lists;
  • Work with Finance to reconcile invoices and ensure timely payments are made;
  • Reconciliation of paperwork/forms received from suppliers;
  • Follow up with suppliers to update delivery dates in company’s internal tracker for open orders, based on the open order report (OOR) to be sent to each supplier each week;
  • Order office supplies and perform general procurement activities.


Who you are:

  • Diploma or certificate in procurement and/or supply chain management (CPIM, CSCP) or related field;
  • Canadian citizenship or Permanent Resident status;
  • Previous experience in procurement in an industrial manufacturing environment;
  • Previous experience working with an ERP system: 1-3 years;
  • Previous experience in a projectized work environment: 1-3 years;
  • General understanding of quality management and international shipping procedures/processes;
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel for data tracking and analysis;
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently;
  • Interested in others and strives for the best for the team;
  • Ability to take ownership and engagement in the work;
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Driven, proactive and able to work autonomously with little supervision towards the company's purpose;
  • Enthusiastic about protecting people and the planet.


Desirable:

  • ISO9001 quality control;
  • Familiarity with occupational health and safety programs;
  • Experience working with engineering teams for new product development.


Salary for this position: Up to $75,000 CAD per annum


Salary: The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
