About The Role

The payroll Administrator will be responsible for smooth and accurate processing of employee payroll including related daily, weekly, monthly and yearly tasks. They will provide customer service to employees by responding to payroll-related enquires.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Assist in processing bi-weekly payroll for MLF Unionized employees.
  • Assist in all month end tasks for bi-weekly payroll.
  • Performing accurate & timely, T&A review (Kronos) and edits for union employees.
  • Auditing and validating all new hires, termination and other changes processed by HR in HRIS System.
  • Processing off cycle payments for Vacation Payouts.
  • Responding to employees regarding payroll-related questions.
  • Maintaining and updating weekly, monthly, and yearly Payroll spreadsheets, and reviews, edits and prints a variety of Payroll reports for MLF Mississauga and Brampton employees.
  • Reviewing new hires, terminations, changes for the next payroll cycle including set up of employees in Time & attendance system & accruals for a variety of employees of MLF Mississauga and Brampton.
  • Cross-training on other tasks in the payroll department to provide coverage.
  • Providing backup for Payroll Specialist as needed.
  • Performing other related duties or projects assigned.

What You Will Bring

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or recent schooling required
  • Minimum 1+ years’ experience processing payroll.
  • Some familiarity with Ontario Employment Standards compliance (ESA);
  • Ability to prioritize and work effectively with little or no supervision
  • Strong comfort level working in Excel on large datasets (filters, pivot tables, vlookup, xlookup, etc.)
  • Computer literacy (MS Office)
