Our Geotechnical team in Saskatchewan is seeking an experienced Intermediate to Senior Geotechnical Engineer that has a project management aptitude and interest.

This role will be based in Saskatoon, SK.

Your Role Within The Team

  • This role will include project management of routine and complex programs across a broad spectrum of sectors such as mining, infrastructure, geohazards and flood protection.
  • Business development and contribution to proposals.
  • Be the project manager and lead for projects and proposals through planning, execution, financial management and close out.
  • Support the team in planning and managing geotechnical investigations and undertake design assessments and analysis calculations.
  • Support construction and provide guidance and troubleshooting for QA field testing and performance of materials such as soil and concrete.
  • Analyze and prepare recommendations and reports for a variety of projects which may include foundation design, infrastructure, shoring, retaining walls, slope stability, ground improvement, settlement and deformation analysis , road structure design, dykes and dams, material testing, and other geotechnical related projects.
  • Adhere to rules and procedures that ensure health, safety and environment and proactively lead to teams in prevention of workplace incidents.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Preferably 8 or more years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering with Project Management experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets, including relationships with clients, and work planning.
  • Either has or is eligible for a Professional Engineering License (P.Eng.). in Saskatchewan or be already registered in another Canadian province.
  • Proven experience of acting in an independent intermediate to senior geotechnical role in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
  • We consider that a CAPM or PMP Designation (or keen interest in acquiring this) will be an asset.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, technical skills and the ability to support the development of teams.
  • Excellent report writing and proposal writing skills with the ability to peer-review and produce quality deliverables.
  • A valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel on short assignments province wide.
