The incumbent will focus on developing the Samsung Retention strategy for mobile products by leading the team responsible for local business of Samsung owned apps and services. This role ensures that Samsung Canada continues to offer consumers innovative sell-out platforms that are seamlessly integrated across mobile devices by working with identified partners and internal stakeholders.

In addition to new product launch with GTM strategy, this role will lead the business development elements of the Trade-In, Samsung Care Plus, Residual Value, and Device Subscription initiatives. The incumbent work collaborative with teams globally to gain insights on market performance and share best practices and those that can be implemented in Canada. Also engage regularly with support teams in Headquarter as it relates to key services and execution.

Role And Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Samsung Service Strategy

Develop and execute Samsung Service strategy with the core responsibility including but not limited to:

  • Build Strategy to manage Samsung owned apps and services.
  • Manage and grow adoption of Samsung Wallet, Samsung Health, Galaxy Store, Samsung Care+ and Trade-In programs to cultivate consumer retention and engagement.
  • Develop monetization strategy for the opportunity to generate revenue for Samsung Canada.
  • Create new revenue opportunities through developing strategies to monetize App preload, the Galaxy App store and other placements within Samsung MX products and services.
  • Collaborate with other teams in US and Korea as well as other markets as required to manage all aspects of developer onboarding, program implementation, verification, and launch.
  • Strong focus on business development and project planning.
  • Weekly reporting, monthly in-depth analysis, of revenue and business model trends.

Sell-out Platform Development (Trade-in & Samsung Care+ Programs)

Responsible to build Sell-out platform strategy and execution for new business growth opportunities. This role has end-to-end responsibility over multiple phased projects, including working with internal stakeholders and partners to deliver project and business objectives.

  • Ownership of partner relationship; liaise with partner to manage the trade-in program in DtC channel and in partner channels collaborate with PM, Marketing, Legal and customer service teams to design, finalize & implement the trade-in promotional offers.
  • Enhance SECA’s trade-in program capabilities – cross-product trade-in, instant trade-in, multi product trade-in. Draft the T&Cs and SOWs for the trade-in promotional offers.

Manage overall Go-To-Market process for new product launches

  • Develop and manage all aspects of the New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Collaborate with product management, marketing, sales, retail, training, supply chain and operations primes to create / maintain the project plan (action item list) and prioritize and schedule project deliverables.
  • Communicate to all stakeholders on project progress against designed plan, requirements, quality measures, compliance with processes, highlight risks and issues, drive resolution and escalate when required to resolve issues, variances and develop actions plans to manage issues.

Requirements

Skills and Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • PMP (or similar) designation an asset.

Knowledge

  • Strong Microsoft office skills, especially with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficiency with project management and process mapping tools (Microsoft Visio, Project, etc.).
  • Thorough understanding of managing large, multi-stakeholder project deployments.
  • Able to identify risks early, exercises good judgement when escalating issues of varying urgency.
  • Sharp attention to detail with the ability to spot inconsistencies and troubleshoot potential issues.
  • Ability to manage relationships in a fast-paced environment, while demonstrating persistence and problem solving skills.
  • Professionalism, positive attitude, and the ability to work well with diverse perspectives are keys to success in this position.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • High comfort level working in a mixed matrix and fluid environment.
  • Ability to present to concisely and with impact to executive audiences.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in mobile applications and services.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in building Retention Strategy with expert understanding of partner networks, affiliate programs and aggregators.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience presenting at all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
  • Deep understanding and experience in the finance and retention sector specifically with emerging payment products.
  • Experience in managing vendors to review RFP/Contract and amendments, ensuring alignment with Legal requirements and relationship building.
  • Previous Project Management experience as it relates to New Product Introduction in the telecommunications and IT sector.
