ACSI is seeking Electrician Apprentice & Journeypersons who will be integral to our project’s success, responsible for providing support and in-depth knowledge in the field relating to electrical matters, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications to lay out work. Your expertise will support a range of activities which are critical to integrity of the electrical systems of the project.

Rate: $23.51 to $47.02 per hour
Overtime: as per Collective agreement
Schedule: 5x2, Monday - Friday

ACSI is seeking Electrician Apprentice & Journeypersons who will be integral to our project’s success, responsible for providing support and in-depth knowledge in the field relating to electrical matters, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications to lay out work. Your expertise will support a range of activities which are critical to integrity of the electrical systems of the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Installing cable tray and conduit and terminating cable. Locating and installing equipment, panels, sensors and other control components and devices.
- Fabricate control panels, wiring check-out.
- Responsible for laying out circuits, set up breaker panels and junction boxes, and install light fixtures and other electrical equipment.
- Ensure all electrical installations follow applicable regulations and trade practices.
- Install, alter, repair and maintain a wide range of electrical equipment for safe, efficient and environmentally sound operation.
- Pull wire through conduits and cables through tray systems.
- Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations.
- Splice, join and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits.
- Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment.
- Install, replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels.
- Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of system, and if need be, replacing or repair following proper installation guidelines.
- Journeyperson will mentor apprentices respectfully and oversee their safety.
Requirements and Experience
- Valid Provincial Journeyperson Ticket or indentured in a Provincial apprenticeship program.
- WHMIS 2015 certificate
- Experience as an Electrician in an industrial construction environment.
- Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
- Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies.
