Job Description

Reporting to the Sales Director, the incumbent is responsible for developing and executing designated key accounts sales strategies and coordinating all required resources to meet the booking targets.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage revenue opportunities across various geographies, notably by, but not limited to:
    • Contributing to the development of tactical and strategic plans and proposals to win business for the sales team
    • Driving the engineering and product design phase of sales
    • Acting as a consultant and advocate for Velan’s products
  • Develop and maintain a wide array of complex relationships through proactive communication as a primary point of contact for key accounts
  • Anticipate customers’ pain points and/or needs notably by, but not limited to supporting initiatives including customer and project stakeholder education, participation to exhibitions, conferences, and demonstrations
  • Continually review the existing pricing, look for ways to drive out costs to improve margins and make return on investments by proposing, in collaboration with the appropriate stakeholders, solutions and engineering recommendations
  • Offer Velan’s product management market feedback
  • Provide continuous training to educate and accelerate the company’s sales
  • Take on and/or provide support on work that can further customers’ experience and booking targets, such as but not limited to:
    • Provide technical leadership during the design engineering process
    • Provide technical specifications and requirements and document as necessary to support proposed solution(s)
    • Respond to functional and technical elements
  • Remain available and accessible to provide customer technical support

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, mechanical engineering, mining, or the equivalent
  • 5 to 10 years in a similar position
  • Proven track record in developing and managing key accounts and meeting booking targets, EPC customers
  • Good knowledge of industrial product applications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent ability to articulate and educate on technical concepts to a variety of audiences
  • Strong ability to analyze customer needs
  • Strong ability to keep customers engaged
  • Ability to work under pressure, especially to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment
  • Ability to work efficiently with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to think in a solution-oriented mode
