Sr. Project Manager - RPAA:
On behalf of our Financial Services client, Procom is searching for a Senior Project Manager - RPAA for a 6 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.
Sr. Project Manager - RPAA - Job Description:
This role involves leading critical initiatives focused on Retail Payment Activities Act (RPAA) compliance. The Project Manager will oversee projects to ensure payment systems and processes align with RPAA regulations, supporting secure and efficient retail payment operations. The position requires a proactive leader with a strong background in banking, regulatory compliance, and project management.
Sr. Project Manager - RPAA - Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end project management for RPAA compliance initiatives, including planning, execution, and delivery within scope, budget, and timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, compliance, operations, product) and external stakeholders to implement RPAA-compliant payment systems.
- Develop and maintain operational risk management frameworks and end-user fund safeguarding processes as mandated by RPAA.
- Oversee RPAA registration requirements and ensure timely reporting, including annual reports and incident notifications.
- Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers to align payment solutions with RPAA standards.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure compliance by key deadlines.
- Communicate project updates and compliance requirements to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- 10+ years of project management experience in banking or fintech, managing cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
- Experience with regulatory compliance projects and regulatory reporting.
- Proven experience managing projects related to payment systems, or real-time payment initiatives.
- Familiarity with RPAA requirements, including operational risk management and end-user fund safeguarding.
- Strong knowledge of banking technology, payment platforms, or integrations with payment service providers (PSPs).
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical, operations, and compliance teams.
- Experience with accessible payment solutions.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Problem-solving abilities in complex regulatory environments.
- Knowledge of industry trends in retail payments.
- Experience in a hybrid work environment.
This is a 6 month contract position.
