Overview:

Our client is looking for an accounting and finance professional to join their team. This role reports to the Senior Vice President.


Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the completeness and accuracy of the entities’ general ledger, sub-ledgers and financial systems
  • Accountable for monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes including manual journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Accountable for reporting entity’s results to Corporate Accounting and Finance teams
  • Review and present monthly, quarterly and annual entity results with Management team
  • Oversee AP, AR and General Accounting teams
  • Accountable for design and effective operational and financial controls
  • Accountable for entity’s internal and external audits/reviews
  • Manage implementation of new IFRS accounting policies as required
  • Accountable for entity’s cash forecasting and other treasury matters
  • Accountable for the entity’s regulatory and tax compliance requirements including all the entity’s tax filings including income taxes, sales taxes and withholding tax returns
  • Maintain dashboard and report departmental and other KPIs to management on a monthly basis
  • Manage the optimization of new and existing accounting systems and platforms
  • Identify obstacles, take initiatives, make recommendations, and execute necessary actions to overcome issues to ensure successful completion of projects
  • Initiate, prioritize and obtain approval for projects that lead to innovation and efficiencies for the department and the business
  • Oversee ad-hoc projects as required


Qualifications:

  • CPA
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in finance-related positions
  • IFRS experience required
  • Audit experience preferred, preferably from the big 4 firms
  • Detail oriented, strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within the direct reports as well as senior leadership within the organization
  • Ability to drive solutions to complex operational and financial issues
  • Proven track record of meeting commitments on time with the highest standards of ethics and integrity
  • A “hands on” attitude with a willingness to step in as required
  • Leadership experience with excellent skills in motivating others and developing talent
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
