Provide leadership, coaching, and training to Dyno Nobel Americas (DNA) blasters in support of the Nobel Academy Blaster Program. You will be responsible for assessing all blasters within regional group against EXMS and competency standards.

What You’ll Do

As the Blaster Assessor, you will p rovide leadership, coaching, and training to Dyno Nobel Americas (DNA) blasters in support of the Nobel Academy Blaster Program. You will be responsible for assessing all blasters within the regional group against ExMS and competency standards. Other duties will include:

  • Train, coach, and assess employees to safely follow the blasting standard operating procedures (ExMS).
  • Proactively support all safety programs to help achieve Zero Harm.
  • Support the implementation and use of risk assessment tools to promote personal responsibility for safety.
  • Ability to coach, assess, and teach individuals, small and large groups, using engaging and motivational techniques.
  • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and region regulations, and governing agencies.
  • Report all incidents and hazardous conditions to appropriate supervisors.
  • Attend and deliver blasting academy, HSE, L&D, and HR training, and programs.
  • Comply with appropriate areas of the HSE Management System and DN Engineering Standards.
  • Actively comply with applicable regulatory health and safety policies and practices in order to ensure personal safety and the safety of employees, company assets, environment, and regulatory compliance.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in blasting or equivalent education, training, and experience
  • 5+ years experience in blasting (i.e. mining, quarry, construction operations)
  • Working knowledge of company and regulatory (Canada) regulations, standards, and procedures (ExMS).
  • Sound computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • May be required to perform technical evaluations and competency assessments.
  • Ability to write and edit training documents
  • Thorough knowledge of Competency Standards, Technical and commercial modules, MSHA, ExMS, DN products, chemical sensitization, delivery equipment, and procedures
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
