Assistant Controller - Western Livestock

Work schedule : Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 4:30 pm

Work location: 627 Plinguet Street, Winnipeg, MB, R2J 2W9 (work 5 days/week in the office)

Status: Permanent, Full-Time

YOUR ROLE

Reporting to the Finance Manager, your main responsibilities as an Assistant Controller will be to:

• Do the monthly full cycle accounting for Sollio Agriculture Livestock Production – Western Canada Ltd and companies;
• Process monthly statements;
• Manage the finance charges;
• Prepay interest at the end of each accounting period and month;
• Review the financial statements and provide explanations for any differences of actual vs budget;
• Support the Year End requirement from Head Office;
• Support the Budgets;
• Support and review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable when questions arise on G/L codes;
• Review Accounts Receivable Aging and make any necessary adjustments;
• Act as a backup to review and approve Concur on a weekly basis;
• Support the Montreal office employees with IT, Financial and Environmental requests;
• Act as the main resource for any NAV questions, by learning the new system and how everything runs behind the scenes.
  
  

YOUR ASSETS

• You have a relevant experience in managing the full accounting cycle;
• You have 3 to 5 years’ experience in accounting;
• You have a Diploma (College or University) in accounting (mandatory);
• You are familiar with NAV (an asset);
• You are familiar with using JET reporting in Excel (an asset).
