Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement asset sustainment strategies for distribution systems operating at or below 35kV.
- Analyze equipment performance, monitor end-of-life trends, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the development and optimization of maintenance standards, business rules, and engineering practices.
- Conduct technical research, statistical analysis, and risk evaluations to support strategic decision-making.
- Contribute to business cases and investment justifications for key programs and initiatives.
- Act as a subject matter expert in audits, vendor interactions, and cross-functional committees.
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC), including a Permit to Practice.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically in distribution systems.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering from a Canadian-recognized institution (Power Engineering preferred).
- Proven expertise in lifecycle asset management and reliability-centered maintenance.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining strong collaboration with distributed teams.
- Familiarity with CAD systems, engineering standards, and design/analysis software.
- Background in performance metrics, change management, and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to travel within the province as required.
